Krabi Scuba Diving Information

Krabi, and the islands of Koh Phi Phi are located approximately 600 miles south of the capital at Bangkok, and although they have always proven popular as a destination for the backpacker and travellers, recent years have seen the region develop a growing reputation as one of Thailands premier scuba diving destinations.


Today, there is a large, and well developed diving industry in Krabi, with the vast majority of the regions dive centres being located in the main resort of Ao Nang, just a few miles outside of the main town at Krabi.

There are a number of excellent dive sites in Krabi, ranging from the shallow local reefs at the small islands just a few miles south of the beaches, through to the excellent, and well known dive sites further afield. The more popular dive sites in Krabi and Koh Phi Phi include Shark Point, the King Cruiser Wreck, and the famous Purple Rock dive site, where sightings of both Whale Sharks and Manta Rays are a regular occurance.

Koh Samui Scuba Diving

Yesterday saw the first publication on the site of the new scuba diving in Koh Samui page, which adds to our already comprehensive information on the opportunities for scuba diving in Thailand. This section covers all aspects of diving in Koh Samui, providing information on all the major dive sites including the famous Sail Rock and Samran Pinnacles.

IKAN Dive In Bali Joins Scubaworld.tv

The latest recruits to our rapidly expanding dive centre database are Ikan Dive, a dive centre from Padangbai on the beautiful island of Bali in Indonesia.


Ikan Dive visit a wide range of dive sites in Bali including the Blue Lagoon, The Channel, Nusa Penida and of course the famous wreck at Tulamben, where the USS Liberty now lies in shallow waters just of the coast of Bali. For people with a little more spare time on their hands, Ikan Dive also organise short safari trips to the big drop offs at nearby Menjangan Park.

The scuba diving in Bali offers divers an interesting mix of marine life for possible encounters. A variety of sharks can be seen here as well as leaf scorpion fish, frogfish and even a Mola Mola if you are extremely fortunate.

Gri Gri Divers Join Dive Centre Database.

The lastest dive centre to join our rapidly expanding database of dive centres is Gri Gri Divers, our first dive centre from the Dominican Republic.

Located on the side of the Casa Del Mar Hotel, in Bayahibe, Gri Gri Divers offer a wide range of diving in the Dominican Republic including wreck diving, wall dives, caves and reefs. They also offer a number of scuba diving courses from a number of the major diving accreditation agencies.

More dive centres join Scubaworld.tv!!!

More good news this morning, as another five dive centres went live on our new Dive Centre Database program, providing an even greater choice for our users thinking about their next scuba diving holiday.


ML Divers are based on the beautiful island of Cyprus, the home to the fantastic Zenobia Wreck dive sites. Based in the Senator Hotel in Ayia Napa, ML Divers offer a wide range of dive sites in Cyprus including Kermia Beach, Da Costa Bay, Cyclops, Green Bay and of course the Zenobia Wreck.

Aakamas Divers are based in Paphos, close to the Akamas National Park, and offer access to a number of sites in and around the Coral Bay area. They offer regular visits to sites including the Amphitheatre, Manajin Island, White River and the Stage Door.
For those of you yet to go scuba diving in Cyprus, it is worth considering, and certainly worth the trip. There are a number of excellent dive sites in and around the island of Cyprus, and a well developed and well organised diving industry has grown throughout the island.

From slightly further afield are Alor Divers, a dive centre from the stunning eco-resort on the island of Alor in Indonesia. Considered one of Indonesia's last 'frontiers,' the Alor Archipelago is undoubtedly one of Indonesia's best diving locations. In particular, the long strait between the two main islands of Alor and Pantar is a world class dive site, and a home to a spectacular variety of marine life and fauna. Aqua Dives Belize Joins The Dive Centre Program.

We are pleased to announce that Aqua Dives Belize, who are a PADI 5 Star Gold Palm scuba diving resort have this morning become the sixth dive centre to join our new dive centres program!

Aqua Dives, who are based on the beachfront in San Pedro town offer a range of above water and below water tours and diving services for people visiting the beautiful island of Caye Ambergris in Belize. As such, one of the their most popular dive sites is the Blue Hole, made famous by the legendary Jacques Cousteau.

The scuba diving in Belize is truely fantastic, and here at Scubaworld we rate Belize as one of the worlds finest (and arguably most underrated) dive destinations. The legendary Blue Hole may prove the 'crowd-puller,' however there are a wide number of excellent dive sites to be found throughout the coastal waters and reefs of Belize. The dives sites around Turneffe Reef are amongst the finest in the entire region.

Phuket Scuba Diving

The beautiful island of Phuket, is located on the west coast of Thailand, on the eastern edge of the Andaman Sea, and is arguably one of Thailands most popular scuba diving destinations. Every year, large numbers of scuba divers travel to this island, to sample some of the best dive sites in Thailand, including the Racha Islands, Krabi and the Phi Phi islands and the dive sites around Phang-Nga Bay. For those willing to travel slightly further, the rewards are even greater, and liveaboards in Phuket regularly travel to some of the worlds best diving including sites at the Burma Banks, the Mergui Archipelago and the stunning Similan Islands.


There are a large number of dive centres in Phuket, who are experienced and well equipped, and Phuket is a classic example of multiple operators ensuring that the overall standard of dive centre is a high one.

It's Good To Chat...

It is with great pleasure that we can now officially announce that the new look scuba diving message boards are open and operational on the Scubaworld.tv web site!

Our forums have always proven one of the most popular areas of the Scubaworld website, and here our users are able to come along and ask a question of our community of around 2,000 regular users of the boards. So if you're currently planning a scuba diving holiday, and would like to get some suggestions or advice on the destination you're planning to visit, why not take a trip to our scuba diving message boards, where our users are happy to help out divers both novice and experienced.

You can find our forums at the bottom of the home page, where we link through to them. All you need to do is complete the simple registration form which is sent through for quick approval. Once you have this approval through, you are free to ask away to all members of our scuba diving community.

Again, we would very much like to hear feedback on the forums, and we promise to read each and every comment that comes through. Remember, we changed the forums originally due to the feedback from the users, and we see these as belonging to the users themselves. Whatever your thoughts are towards our scuba diving message boards, good or bad, we would love to hear from you!

Site Changes On Scubaworld.tv

In keeping with our policy of keeping the users informed on all new changes on the Scubaworld.tv website, we thought we would let you all know of a few new additions to the site, which hopefully make for better and more comprehensive reading, as well as easier navigation on and around the deeper pages of the site.

  1. New location pages have been added into the England diving pages of the site, and so now there are detailed information pages on diving in Portland Harbour, off the North East Coast of England as well as the major inland dive sites in England. A number of people have been asking us to get more information live on the opportunities for scuba diving in England, and we hope that this is a good start to helping you find the information you all need.
  2. We have also just finalised the brand new sitemap on the Scubaworld site, which gives users easy access to the deeper level pages that you are looking for. We hope that the new sitemap help you all find the information you are looking for that little bit quicker.

As always, there are many more changes to come over the next few weeks and months, and we will always keep people informed via the blog as to what is happening on the site.
